La Coppetta Matta is 100% woman owned by sisters Patricia and Laura the daughters of Rocco, who arrived from Italy in 1957 at the tender age of 17.

From the West Village to Wellington

How It All Began

Nearly seventy years of pastry, gelato and Italian ices one family, one obsession with quality.

  1. 1957

    Rocco arrives in New York

    At just 17, Rocco arrives from Italy and takes a job washing dishes in a pastry shop in New York City's West Village. He works his way up to pastry chef.

  2. 1974

    Rocco's Pastry Shop & Espresso Café

    Rocco buys the shop he grew up in and renames it Rocco's Pastry Shop and Espresso Café a West Village institution in the making.

  3. 2011

    Pasticceria Rocco

    When Rocco retires, Patricia, Laura and their younger brother take over and rename it Pasticceria Rocco. Among its famous Italian-American pastries, Rocco's produces some of the finest Italian gelato and ices.

  4. 2026

    La Coppetta Matta opens

    The sisters bring the family's gelato and New York Italian ices to Wellington, Florida made from scratch in the shop, every single day.

Laura

Laura grew up in the business world, spending her childhood helping her father run the family's Italian pastry shop and café. That experience gave her a strong work ethic, a passion for customer service, and an understanding of what it takes to successfully operate and grow a business.

Over the years, Laura built on that foundation, owning and operating several thriving businesses across different industries developing deep experience in operations, strong customer relationships and long-term growth. As an owner of La Coppetta Matta, she's excited to bring decades of entrepreneurial experience and dedication to excellence into this new chapter.

Patricia

Like her sister Laura, Patricia grew up in the business world, spending her childhood working alongside her father and building on his ethics, his standards and his obsession with quality for a growing base of customers.

Patricia knew that family was at the core of everything her father created. Her dedication to family and friends shows in how she creates her gelato and recipes a foundation in family is what makes exceptional customer service possible.
